We are accepting contributions to our first theme, Time, until December 22, 2023.

We’re looking for short fiction, essays, and poems originally in English or in translation, as well as short visual, graphic, multimedia, multidisciplinary, and interactive pieces that engage with the work already posted under the theme. We’re open to all kinds of engagements and with anything on Lab, and are particularly interested in illustrations or images that directly respond to Lab features. If a submission shows no familiarity or engagement with Lab, it will most likely not be accepted.

You might find further inspiration from our ongoing Time mood board, where we’ve posted links, texts, and quotes the Lab team and its collaborators shared with one another as we discussed our theme.

For text pieces, please submit up to 2000 words; works of audio or video should be up to 5 minutes. We’re looking for previously unpublished work; if aspects of a submission are available elsewhere (e.g., text from a multimedia piece), please specify this in your submission materials.

Please send only one piece; if you submit multiple pieces, we will consider the first. Simultaneous submissions are fine, as long as the submission is withdrawn if accepted elsewhere.

Submissions will be accepted via Submittable. Graywolf Lab will pay $100 for any accepted submission.
