RAU seeks a Communications Assistant (CA) to advance our public facing activities and coordinate internal communications
Position Summary
Reporting to Steering Committee Chairs, the CA plays a key role in implementing RAU’S communications plan, promotional activities, and community outreach across the organization’s internal and external constituencies. The CA advances RAU’S mission, vision, values, and strategic goals; helps increase and diversify audience engagement; and amplifies RAU’S regional visibility.

Responsibilities:
● Collate opportunities for greater Rochester organizations and artists
● Design and disseminate monthly informational e-newsletters
● Manage RAU’s inbox, answering emails or forwarding them to appropriate board
members
● Post arts opportunities and events to ROC Arts United’s social media, primarily
Instagram
● Maintain RAU’s website
● Maintain RAU’s constituency database
● Attend monthly RAU remote board meetings
● Coordinate internal communications as needed
● On a weekly basis, check ROC Arts United’s physical mailbox (at RoCo on East Avenue)

Qualifications:
● Demonstrated facility with Mailchimp or equivalent platform, Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat, social media platforms, Zoom
● Ability to write and edit concise, clear, engaging copy
● A-Plus communication skills, both written and oral
● Experience posting/sharing compelling written and visual content on social media, especially for a brand/organization
● Ability to take initiative, prioritize, and manage projects to deadline
● Knowledge of the arts community locally, regionally, and nationally (or ability to learn!)
● Collaborative spirit, maturity, flexibility
● Commitment to justice, equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion
