Submissions must speak to the beauty of the Erie Canal. Artwork can represent canal surroundings, villages and/or the flora and fauna.
The work can be as personal as a memory, as scientific as a botanical drawing, or anywhere between.
Works can be abstract or representational. This exhibition’s vision is to be inclusive and accessible to all artists
.Selected artworks will be exhibited to the public in the Village Gallery at
Stony Point Art Studio, located at 114 N. Main Street in the vibrant canal village of Fairport NY.
The exhibit will coincide with a weekend-long Canal Days festival June 6-8 that draws over 200,000 visitors yearly in addition to an active social and retail scene in the summer months that draws an incredible amount of foot traffic and interest in local art.
The opening reception will be open to the public and coincide with the kick-off of the festival and also add to the excitement around the 200th anniversary of the Erie Canal.
