Deadline February 2, 2022

Are you looking for an audience for your short film?

Black Public Media is accepting completed short films — scripted and documentary — that highlight the diversity and complexity of the Black experience across the globe for national public media distribution.  We welcome films about music, art, human rights, sports, politics, health, or anything in between.

Films must be between 3 and 30 minutes in length and completed within the last 3 years.  The films should be accessible to a broad audience, have the potential for a national broadcast, and can be used for effective outreach and engagement activities to reach audiences beyond the public television broadcast. Completed programs must be able to meet PBS technical and editorial standards.  In addition, the US broadcast rights rights to stream the films on all PBS platforms, including social platforms (i.e. Facebook) must be currently available.

BPM will offer selected films a licensing agreement for U.S. public media distribution and BPM’s standard acquisition fee.  We are accepting submissions until Wednesday, Feb 2, 2022. Don’t Delay!
