Long before she became the iconic singer-songwriter we know today, a young Carol Klein was turning out hits for some of the biggest acts in music from her cubicle in Manhattan’s Brill Building, a.k.a. The Hit Factory. Packed with over two dozen chart-topping hits including So Far Away, Up on the Roof, It’s Too Late, and You’ve Got a Friend, Beautiful is both the story of the American dream, and the underbelly of the music industry.
